Support: Broadband 

gotalk Broadband

The following settings are required for a successful connection to gotalk broadband internet. If you are using a NON gotalk supplied modem, please refer to your device manual for correct setup. All gotalk broadband customers can also use dial up internet when the service is unavailable or if away from home. Simply ensure your Broadband Modem/Router is turned off at home when trying to connect with dial up internet to get uninterrupted service. Use your existing broadband user log in details to get connected on our National Dialup access number.

ADSL Modem interface settings

 

Encapsulation: PPPoA or PPPoE
IP address: Automatically assigned by ISP
DNS address: Automatically assigned by ISP
Enter username as: username@gotalk.net.au
Enter password as: password created at time of sign up.
MTU: 1460
Multiplexing method: VC-Based, VPI=8, VCI=35
PPP Connection Setting: Always on

 

 

gotalk Email Settings

The following settings are required to successfully set up your email client.

If you would like to automatically configure your Outlook Express or Outlook email client, click here to download the gotalk email wizard. Select the run option when prompted, enter your user details to complete the wizard. Remember to enter your user details as your full email address. It’s that easy.

 

We have also included two additional PDF files for your assistance on how to set up SMPT authentication when sending emails using Outlook Express or Outlook email client. If this is NOT set up in your email client then you may not be able to send emails.

gotalk FTP Settings

The following settings are required to successfully connect and upload files to your gotalk FTP web space. By default your space is inactive and you will need to contact gotalk customer service to have this activated. Remember, to have your own personal website visible on the internet your start page must be called “index.html”.

 

FTP server address: ftp.gotalk.net.au
Your home page address will be: www.gotalk.net.au/username
Use Port Number: 21
To Log on Enter username as: Username (only)
Enter password as: password created at time of sign up
FTP Root directory start file: Must have index.html
